Privacy Policy

We collect information you provide (name, phone, email, date of birth where required for age eligibility, profile details, media, messages, booking and payment metadata) and technical data needed to operate the service (device identifiers, logs, crash reports, and usage analytics where enabled).

We use data to operate bookings, process Booking Credit purchases for Buddies, verify eligibility (including age), improve safety, prevent fraud, provide support, send service notifications (including push where permitted), enforce policies, and improve reliability.

Session fees are agreed between you and your Buddy and are paid directly to your Buddy at the session or in advance (cash, UPI, or another method you both accept). LetMeBuddy does not collect, hold, or escrow session fees, and does not process payouts to Buddies for session time.

Buddies purchase Booking Credits on LetMeBuddy via Razorpay to accept bookings. One credit is consumed when you accept a booking request. Credit packs, pricing, and welcome credits (if offered) are shown in the app. Booking Credits are platform fees for Buddies only — not session fees and not a customer payment account. If a Buddy cancels after accepting, the consumed credit is not returned. If the customer cancels after the Buddy accepted, the consumed credit is restored to the Buddy.

When Buddies purchase Booking Credits, payment metadata (amount, status, Razorpay references) is processed by our payment provider. LetMeBuddy does not collect or store customer session-fee payment details between users.

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with other users where needed to fulfil bookings (profile, chat within a booking), with processors (payment, cloud, maps, communications, notifications) under contract, and with authorities when legally required or to protect safety.

We may use location when you choose features that need it (e.g. meeting area or map context). We do not declare background location tracking in our mobile app.

For eligible paid bookings, voice/video may be offered in-app via a real-time provider (Agora) using short-lived tokens. See our Terms for when calls are available.

Where we show a verified buddy badge or refer to “photo verified” users, that means the person completed our buddy verification steps: a clear profile photo, phone verification where applicable, a live selfie video while saying a one-time code, and admin review where applicable. Photo/video verification may reduce certain risks but does not guarantee identity, conduct, safety, suitability, or the quality of any session.

If you apply to become a buddy, we collect your profile photo and a short live selfie verification video (including audio) solely to review identity, enforce policies, and decide whether to show a photo verified badge. Verification media may be reviewed by authorised staff or contractors under confidentiality obligations and retained as described in our data retention section.

Processors may include Razorpay (payments), cloud hosting, Firebase (push), Google (maps), Agora (calls), and diagnostics providers. They process data on our instructions.

We retain data as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. See Account & data deletion.

The platform is for adults 18+ only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we may suspend or delete it and remove associated data where appropriate.

You may access and update profile data in the app, request deletion, and opt out of non-essential marketing where offered.

India (DPDP Act): Where applicable, Indian users may have additional rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and related rules, including the right to access, correction, erasure, and grievance redressal. Users may withdraw consent for processing where applicable under law.
